The magnetically-controlled reactor is suitable for reactive power compensation in distribution networks at 6~110kV voltage levels.
The magnetically-controlled reactor is an oil-immersed iron-core reactor, using insulating oil as the insulating medium, consisting of an iron core, coils, and an oil tank. It features a compact size, low temperature rise, high insulation strength, and low noise and environmental impact. By controlling the Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) and utilizing additional DC excitation to magnetize the iron core, the reactor’s reactance can be continuously adjusted. Therefore, the magnetically-controlled reactor is suitable for reactive power compensation in 6~110kV distribution networks. Through rapid adjustment of the reactor’s capacity, the total reactive power output can be continuously and quickly changed to achieve real-time tracking of load reactive power, improve the system power factor, and stabilize the system voltage.
